While residing in Europe on International assignments for over three decades, Al began painting. Traveling extensively, the sources of inspiration were endless:
English landscapes, the Cotswolds, rainy streets of London...Provence, the French Riviera...or walking the streets of Paris, including Montmartre...Italy'sTuscany region, Rome and Lake Como to name a few. Visits to the art museums to view the Masters were at every turn, and Impressionism - with its broad, loose strokes - provided the inspiration for his initial paintings.
Since retirement from the corporate arena, Al has dedicated his life to his passion for art. At adjudications by the Laguna Beach Senior Art Exhibit, judges recognized and featured his work over the course of the last four years. In addition and of particular significance is the fact that he has entered into a personal mentoring relationship with Jerry Yarnell of the Yarnell Studio and School of Fine Art and now travels throughout the U.S. painting scenes of our beautiful country.
As an emerging artist, his impressionistic style has evolved into semi-realism with a flair for color, light and depth that appeals to his followers. He currently is known for his landscapes in acrylics. Al's wish is that people will find inspiration from his work, and that it will provide a source of pleasure in their lives.
